The HomeWizard system provides smartphone-based control of residential automation via the iPhone or iPad. The accompanying HomeWizard app necessitates the use of a HomeWizard* device, which acts as an intermediary between the user’s mobile device and existing wireless home systems.

The HomeWizard device facilitates integration with a variety of wireless protocols from manufacturers such as KlikAanKlikUit, Cresta, TFA, Somfy, and Wattcher. It enables users to control lighting and other connected devices remotely through the app. Additionally, the system can send push notifications upon events such as doorbell presses and can receive data from wireless weather stations or real-time energy monitoring devices. The app also supports operational control over curtains, blinds, and garage doors. Connected to a user’s WiFi network, the device allows for internet access and automatic firmware updates.

Through the HomeWizard Online service (available at www.homewizard.nl/homewizardonline), users can access their system remotely at any time and from any location. Key functionalities include:

<li>Remote toggling of lights and appliances via wireless switches.</li>
<li>Integration of IP cameras for live video feeds coupled with simultaneous control of lighting and other home systems.</li>
<li>Remote thermostat management to set desired indoor temperatures while en route home.</li>
<li>Creation of automation scenes to control multiple devices simultaneously with a single tap, along with timer settings for scheduled operation.</li>
<li>Implementation of the ‘Awareness System’ for notifications triggered by surface contact sensors, motion detectors, smoke alarms, or doorbells, with optional snapshot capture linked to camera feeds.</li>
<li>Conditional control actions based on specific scenarios, such as activating lighting upon motion detection during designated hours.</li>
<li>Compatibility with KlikAanKlikUit and Elro switches, dimmers, and other receivers.</li>
<li>Monitoring and visualizing weather data—temperature, wind speed, precipitation, and UV levels—from compatible sensors.</li>
<li>Real-time electrical consumption measurement and monitoring of energy generation from solar panels.</li>
<li>Control of Somfy RTS receivers for automated sunshade, curtain, and garage door operations.</li>
</ul>
